Critical Care medicine, also known on intensive care medicine is a relatively new but increasingly important speciality. It is the specialised care of patients whose conditions are life threatening and who need comprehensive care and continuous monitoring.
Critical care is provided by a highly specialised multi disciplinary team comprising intensivists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, and clinical pharmacists. Intensivists are physicians who are trained in intensive care.
Facilities Available: (Rooms,Technology, ICUs)
The Multidisciplinary ICU managed by department of critical care medicine has 9 beds with 4 beds meeting level III and the rest meeting level II specifications. The ICU is equipped with advanced ventilators, NIV machines, bedside ultrasound/ECHO machine, ABG machine, defibrillator etc
All the beds have multipara monitors. Transport ventilator & centralised monitoring facility are available
